"Alfalfa, the freckled face, is my real sweetheart," Darla Jean Hood, of the movies in Hollywood and of Leedy, Oklahoma, said today in an "exclusive" interview with a Times-Democrat reporter.
Darla Jean enjoys appearing with the "Our Gang" children of the movies with whom she has been appearing in pictures during the past few weeks making a tour of some of the larger cities of the United States.
Guest Today
Darla Jean was guest of honor with her mother, Mrs. J. C. Hood, this morning at the Altus swimming pool, when a large number of small boys and girls of the city and their mothers were also entertained. Numerous pictures of the children were made and they were served refreshments.
The "sweetheart of Our Gang" appeared on Wednesday night (the 10th) in song and dance at the Empire theater under direction of W. T. Spears. She was accompanied on the piano by her mother.
Will Entertain
At noon Friday (the 12th) she will appear again in song and dance before the Kiwanis club at the noon day luncheon in the New Orient hotel.
Mrs. Hood and Darla Jean are guests in Altus in the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd McMahan and Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Grimmett. Mrs. McMahan and son, John Boyd, and the out-of-town visitors were guests for luncheon today in the Grimmett home.
