Life among Hollywood's youngest set was explained to the boys and girls at the Newington Home for Crippled Children in Newington Wednesday afternoon (the 10th) by Mary Ann Jackson, 9-years-old star of "Our Gang" pictures.
Mary Ann's audience listened eagerly as she told them of the daily routine of the boys and girls who work on the sets to make the pictures which are loved by youngsters the world over. She related incidents about various members of the original "Our Gang," among whom was Jackie Cooper who later became a star in his own right. An exhibition of dance steps completed Mary Ann's routine.
Hartford children will have an opportunity to see Mary Ann for she will be at the Wise-Smith store Friday morning (the 12th) at 10:30 in the juvenile department on the fourth floor. She will also appear on the Cameo Theater stage for three performances on Friday, at 2, 5 and 8:30 p.m.
Mary Ann has been in the movies for six and a half years. When she was little more than a baby she joined the cast of juvenile comedians and is now one of the few original members of the gang. This summer she has appeared in many of the large cities in the East. She will return to Hollywood in September to resume work in motion pictures.
