C. E. Christensen worked for the Roach studio for at least a decade and a half. The Standard Casting
Directory of 1936 lists the heads of department for various movie studios, including Hal Roach Studios, and Christensen
is listed as the head of the construction department (but with his last name spelled Christenson). A look into
The Harold Lloyd Encyclopedia by Annette D'Agostino Lloyd reveals a page out of a 1920 publication showing the
department heads at the Roach studio for that year, and Christensen is listed as 'technical chief.' In an October
1924 casting directory, he's credited as 'technical director' for the studio. Presumably, these titles had some
connection to the construction department, but I'm not sure about that. In any event, he probably had at least a casual
involvement with all of the Roach films made during his tenure, including all of the Our Gang films made until late 1936, if
not beyond to the 1938 move to MGM. As can be seen with this filmography, Christensen pretty much never received onscreen
credit. The one credit given here is from the Lloyd book.
